Emmanuel Perrotin founded his first gallery in 1990 at the age of twenty-one. Since
then, he has worked closely with his roster of artists, some for more than twenty-five
years, to realize their ambitious projects. Perrotin has ten galleries globally, including a
New York space, totaling approximately 84,000 square feet (7,800 square meters) across
all locations. These multiple venues offer great flexibility, enabling Perrotin to continue
staging ambitious projects and large-scale exhibitions for the varied group of world
renowned artists it represents. The gallery organizes about 45 exhibitions a year, and
partakes in about 20 international art fairs. Perrotin represents more than 60 artists and
six estates, and also collaborates with approximately 35 others. Altogether, the gallery
provides exposure to both established and emerging artists of more than 25
nationalities. The gallery also publishes books, special editions, and artists’ objects,
available in every Perrotin bookstore.

Perrotin is pleased to present Colosseum, the gallery’s first exhibition with Holly Lowen and her debut in New York. Through rhythmically charged compositions, she interrogates the thin line between instinct and control. Known for high-energy scenes of athletes and animals, in her new body of work, Lowen expands these motifs into complex portraits that examine patterns of behavior both on and beyond the court.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present 'Touch Grass,' a summer group exhibition celebrating artistic connections to the natural world. The show takes its title from the phrase “touch grass”—a contemporary directive to get offline and ground oneself in real emotions and activities.
'Touch Grass' brings together artists with diverse practices who are united in their respective commitment to producing works distinctly the result of human hand and mind. Tactile imperfections, gestural abstractions, conceptual frameworks, and more—this exhibition is an embrace of community and the humanity shared between us all.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present 'Ojo de Agua,' the gallery’s first exhibition with Franco-Mexican artist Hugo Toro and the artist’s first presentation in the United States. Toro navigates the space between reality and imagination, painting landscapes that reveal stories that have shaped his identity, whether from his own life or his ancestral lineage. Across this new body of work, water appears as the main source of inspiration, painted in melancholic shades that reflect the element itself and its ability to reflect light, memory, and emotion.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present 'Antechamber,' an exhibition by Swedish artist Jens Fänge that features labyrinthine architectural settings populated by people, animals, and mannequins. In the artist’s distorted interiors, walls collapse into one another, objects float in space, and recurring motifs shift meaning depending on their context. Across more than twenty new paintings, each work functions like a visual experiment, generating paradoxes rather than answers.

Perrotin is pleased to present 'Collective Hallucinations,' an exhibition of new work by Nick Doyle featuring a suite of wall-mounted collages and an immersive installation of a psychic parlor that marks his first experiment with artificial intelligence. In both bodies of work, the Brooklyn-based artist mines the fraught relationship between land and technology, progress and destruction.

Half-Looking, Half-Seen

Perrotin New York is pleased to present 'Half-Looking, Half- Seen,' a special presentation of new paintings by GaHee Park, preceding the artist’s first institutional show in the United States, opening this August at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. Through still lifes and portraits set within seascapes and landscapes, Park creates psychological explorations shaped by the transition of day into night. In scenes that are both visually captivating and subtly unsettling, she probes the dynamics of coexistence, where figures inhabit a state between perceiving and being perceived.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present 'Various Thoughts', an exhibition of new sculptures, paintings, and drawings by Daniel Arsham. Focusing on his 'Labyrinth' series, the artist explores architecture as a site for memory and historical record, as well as our psychological connection to place. Across the works on view, he plays with slippages between artifact and machine, permanence and disappearance.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present 'All for All' by Gelitin. The exhibition brings together two series—'All for All' and 'WirWasser'—that highlight community engagement as a key tenet of Gelitin's practice. The titular series consists of distorted ceramic portraits that are displayed as a group, exploring the tension between collective and individual.

Repeated Original

Perrotin is pleased to present 'Repeated Original' by Gabriel de la Mora. Throughout his career, the artist has developed an exploration of painting without paint: planes that retain pictorial qualities but dispense with the pigments traditionally associated with the medium. In this pursuit, he has worked with materials taken directly from nature—human hair, butterfly wings, bird feathers, obsidian, andesite—as well as repurposed materials—shoe soles, bicycle inner tubes, glass microscope slides. Far from neutral, these materials carry histories, whether embedded in their DNA, in their chemical composition, or the marks left by use and wear.

Perrotin is pleased to present Gregor Hildebrandt’s latest exhibition, Blau im Gedächtnis (Blue in Memoriam), inspired by the interior windows of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, one of West Berlin’s most famous landmarks. This work transposes the motifs of its stained windows into an installation of small vinyl record paintings that covers the entire exhibition space, creating an immersive experience for the viewer.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present Slow Wave Sleep, a four-person painting exhibition organized by John Henderson. The exhibition approaches abstract painting as an externalized form of memory consolidation through which individual marks are collected and held transfixed within the picture plane for future recall. Across the works on view, the painters' processes are slow and deliberate, often creating unexpected effects and meaning that become larger than the sum of their parts.

With their naturalism, near-abstract geometry, and spectral
silhouettes, Lynn Chadwick’s enigmatic figures left an indelible
mark on 20th-century sculpture, standing alongside the works
of Alberto Giacometti, Henry Moore, and Louise Bourgeois.
The current exhibition, Archetype, focuses on the British
artist’s mature period (1963–1977) and forms the second
chapter of Hypercycle—an ambitious three-part project
spanning three continents and three years, presenting more
than 120 of Chadwick’s sculptures. It follows Scalene, which
explored his early works (1947–1963) and was shown in 2024
in Paris at the Centre des Monuments Nationaux and at
Perrotin. The third and final chapter will showcase Chadwick’s
late works (1978–1995) in Asia in 2026.

Known for his whimsical, humanlike figures, Otani’s work marries Japanese pop sensibility with highly traditional ceramic techniques. Presented at the gallery in a custom-made installation, the artist’s new body of paintings, bronze sculptures, FRP and ceramics live in a universe of their own.

Behind the Curtain

Perrotin New York is pleased to present Behind the Curtain by Sophie Calle, an exhibition that disrupts conventional ideas of perception. In 2023, Calle became the first artist to take over the Picasso Museum galleries in Paris. Behind the Curtain will include two series on Picasso’s most emblematic paintings. Also on view, In Memory of Frank Gehry's Flowers imagines a memorial in honor of the renown architect, and Calle's Parce que series pairs photographs and poems that disrupt traditional processing of information.

Cosmic Machine

Perrotin New York is pleased to present Cosmic Machine, the gallery’s debut exhibition with Monira Al Qadiri and the artist’s first show in New York. Known for her multidisciplinary practice, Al Qadiri explores the intersections of global history, ecology, and the evolving relationship between natural and manufactured environments. Cosmic Machine will present a new body of sculptures that explore the impacts of natural resource extraction, which both fuels political narratives and links us to the natural history of the planet. Concurrently, the artist’s monumental installation First Sun will be presented by the Public Art Fund in Central Park.

Soft Tremulous Light

Leslie Hewitt’s exhibition at Perrotin New York, titled Soft Tremulous Light, is accompanied by the text Angles of a Landscape by Elleza Kelley, as a joint exploration of and reaction to what French anthropologist Marc Augé addressed as supermodernity. Throughout Hewitt's two decades-long practice, she has developed installations that position the personal, the collective and the literary as interchangeable elements in a seemingly endless series of compositions. The exhibition includes representative works from the following: Riffs on Real Time, Birthmark, Rough Cuts and a new collaborative work titled Rhombus or Humming Song (1 - 4 - 5) with fellow artist and life-partner Jamal Cyrus; minimally installed as a constellation.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present Humanity, an exhibition of new paintings by Dora Jeridi, marking her first solo exhibition with the gallery. Jeridi’s figures are simultaneously universal and deeply personal. In this new body of work, the artist captures an ambiguity between vulnerability and strength, between a febrile state and the expression of power, inviting us to consider what makes our humanity. Without providing answers, Jeridi encourages us to dwell in uncertainty, to explore the spaces where meaning remains both elusive and profound.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present Alain Jacquet & James Rosenquist, in collaboration with Kasmin and thanks to Sophie Matisse and Gaïa Jacquet-Matisse, Mimi Thompson and Lily Rosenquist. This sweeping exhibition elucidates the expressive work of Jacquet and Rosenquist. Most notably associated with the Pop Art movement, these two artists were contemporaries and friends who shared similar interests and practices. The gallery's first floor highlights the artists' interest in space, while the second floor features artwork from the 1960s.

Perrotin Los Angeles opens its fall 2024 season with Pacific Abstractions. Curated by Perrotin Senior Director Jennifer King, and featuring works by Naotaka Hiro, Kazuo Kadonaga, Lee Bae, Yunhee Min, Keisho Okayama, Park Seo-Bo, and Shim Moon-Seup, Pacific Abstractions proposes a fresh art historical view on contemporary abstract art, focusing on the transpacific artistic dialogues between Asia and the West Coast. By bringing together artworks by Asian and Asian-American artists practicing on both sides of the Pacific, the exhibition celebrates the local and global artistic connections occasioned by Perrotin’s recent expansion to Los Angeles.

Perrotin New York is pleased to present Between, an immersive exhibition of new work by artist Lee Bae (b. 1956 in Cheongdo, South Korea). The exhibition follows two major installations by the artist: in 2023, Lee Bae was the first Korean artist to be commissioned for a colossal project at Rockefeller Center in New York, and currently, his work is the subject of a solo exhibition at the Wilmotte Foundation as part of the official collateral program of the 60th Venice Biennale. Building on these recent presentations, at Perrotin, the artist unveils a site-specific paper installation painted with charcoal ink alongside several bronze sculptures. These bodies of work explore the liminal space between cultural past and contemporary moment by using minimalist forms to capture lost fragments of time.

Industry Plants

The exhibition will present a selection of iconic artworks that challenge our understanding of what constitutes a "masterpiece." Additionally, the collective debuts a collaboration with Italian design brand Gufram, marking MSCHF's furniture debut.

Perrotin is pleased to announce Strangers Welcome, a continuation of Johan Creten's exhibition Le Coeur qui déborde (The Overflowing Heart) at the remote Abbaye de Beaulieu-en-Rouergue in France. The Paris-based sculptor will introduce his colorful, mysterious creations and gilded bas-reliefs to New York, presenting viewers with his eclectic metaphors on the human condition.

The New School of Paris Through Its Pioneering Women (1945-1964)

Perrotin is pleased to present a historical exhibition on the New School of Paris movement, featuring never-before-seen works from private collections and foundations. Exploring the period from 1945 through 1964, the presentation will bring together for the first time a wealth of archives recounting the stories of female gallerists and critics who contributed to the rise of the post-war movement.
This show features exceptional loans and rare archival material, providing an unprecedented glimpse into the lives of these visionary women in Post-war Paris. A 52-minute documentary was produced specifically for the exhibition and will be screened during the show.

In 1939, the Del Mar Theatre burst onto California’s cinema scene with Frank Capra’s “You Can’t Take It with You.” Throughout the next eight decades, the space has transformed and changed hands. Most recently, Perrotin Los Angeles took possession of the building, converting it into an art gallery while preserving the theater’s historical marquee. An auditorium enhanced by Johnston Marklee serves as the central gallery space, where art collective MSCHF exhibits their second Perrotin solo presentation, Art 2. The collective stages a series of installations bound by the theme of a second act.

Perrotin is pleased to announce the inauguration of its Los Angeles gallery during Frieze Week with a solo exhibition dedicated to Izumi Kato. On view starting February 28, the inaugural exhibition is the Japan-born artist’s debut on the West Coast of the United States. It will present a survey of his recent practice, highlighting new developments in his paintings, drawings, and sculptures made from various media including wood, stone, soft vinyl, textile, plastic models and cast aluminium.
