Keegan Monaghan

Enter the Nose

April 23, 2023 - June 10, 2023
Parker Gallery is proud to present its second solo exhibition with Keegan Monaghan. This new body of work continues the artist’s ongoing interest in defamiliarizing everyday objects and scenes through extreme close-up compositions rendered in thick impasto paint. This group of 8 new paintings highlight the vantage point of looking in or through: corridors, curtains, fences, and windows, lending a particularly voyeuristic and urban sensibility to these scenes, which are at once deeply familiar and alien.

Maija Peeples-Bright

Mermaid Maija & the Island Paintings

April 23, 2023 - June 10, 2023
Parker Gallery is proud to present an exhibition of new work by Maija Peeples-Bright, Mermaid Maija and the Island Paintings. This is the artist’s second solo show at the gallery. Peeples-Bright is one of few women artists commonly associated with Northern California’s Funk and Nut art of the late 1960s and ‘70s. For 60 years, Maija Peeples-Bright has made surreal and maximalist paintings and ceramic sculpture composed of ‘beasties’ from the animal kingdom.
