Julie Saul Gallery specializes in contemporary photo-based art and works on paper by an international roster of established and emerging artists. We opened our first public space in Soho in 1986, and since 2000 we have been located in Chelsea. In addition to photography, we exhibit video, painting, prints, and sculpture.

We present work that is both formally innovative, and investigates meaningful themes and issues social, political and environmental. The gallery often hosts special projects involving vintage photographs, as well as thematic and historical topics. Among the group of artists we represent, several have been with us since the beginning, and we regularly premier emerging contemporary artists, as well as artists from all generations.

The gallery strives to gain exposure for our artists through both exhibition and acquisitions by museums both in the United States and Europe. We provide advice and consultation to our private and corporate collectors and pride ourselves on our knowledge, expertise and integrity. The gallery has formed several significant corporate collections. We regularly participate in public art fairs including The Art Show (ADAA) Miami Project, Pulse, Paris Photo and AIPAD (the Association of International Photographic Art Dealers) EXPO Chicago and the New York Armory Show.
