Almine Rech opened in April 1997. At its inception the gallery presented exhibitions by James Turrell, John McCracken and Joseph Kosuth, artists with whom the gallery has had long-standing relationships. Through international growth currently totaling 7 spaces in Paris, London, Brussels, New York and Shanghai, the Almine Rech program has expanded to include artists and estates such as John Armleder, Nathaniel Mary Quinn, Pablo Picasso, Tom Wesselmann, Jeff Koons, Günther Förg, Brian Calvin, Chloe Wise, Vivian Springford, De Wain Valentine, Claire Tabouret, Vaughn Spann and Genesis Tramaine among others.

It has always been the gallery's mission to continually seek out and include new artists in its roster, recent additions include the estate of Antoni Tapies, Farah Atassi, Sarah Cunningham, Haley Josephs, Marcus Jansen, Andrea Maria Breiling, Alexandre Lenoir and Scott Kahn.

As part of its expansion, Almine Rech is pleased to announce the opening of its new U.S Flagship in Tribeca, New York, with a solo exhibition by the American artist Vaughn Spann, October 5, 2023. The recently renovated 10,000 square foot gallery is situated at 361 Broadway (at Franklin St.) and will open with an exhibition by Vaughn Spann. For the occasion, which also marks Vaughn’s first solo presentation in New York since 2020, the artist has prepared a body of new abstract paintings. A reception will take place that night, Thursday, October 5, from 6-8PM

The Essential Figures

Almine Rech Gallery is pleased to present the first New York solo exhibition of Bay Area artist Zio Ziegler (American, b. 1988 in Mill Valley, CA). Titled “The Essential Figures,” the exhibition features 12 paintings recently completed in his Marin County studio.

Almine Rech is pleased to announce French artist César Piette’s second solo exhibition with the gallery, in which he applies his trademark style to a perennial subject of philosophy, literature and art: the humble butterfly. Since the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Chinese, butterflies have served as a metaphor, and artists as varied as Katsushika Hokusai, Frida Kahlo, and Damien Hirst have used them to illustrate themes such as the potential for transformation as well as the brevity of life and the flight of the soul.

Almine Rech New York is pleased to present an exhibition of tapestries by Phyllis Stephens. This is Stephens' first solo exhibition with the gallery. Stephens has exhibited with the gallery in three group exhibitions, Painting Someonein Shanghai, Un Hiver à Paris, in Paris and the August Presentation in Aspen. The exhibition will be on view from January 12 to February 25, 2023.

Almine Rech New York is pleased to present Nomadic Murals an exhibition of tapestries by Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier organized in collaboration with Fondation Le Corbusier. This is the first time the gallery has shown works by Le Corbusier. The exhibition will be on view from September 14 to October 22, 2022.
