Book Launch & Talk

Thursday, June 5, 6:00pm till 8:00pm

Join us on Thursday, June 5, from 6:00–8:00pm at Marianne Boesky Gallery (507 W 24th St, New York) for a lively panel discussion celebrating arts writer Annabel Keenan’s debut book, Climate Action in the Art World: Towards a Greener Future, an urgent and compelling exploration of the critical work that has been undertaken to date to create a more sustainable art world and proposes the next steps in system-wide change.

Keenan will be in conversation with regenerative ecologies sculptor Jordan Weber; and Laura Lupton, co-founder of Galleries Commit, a leading sustainability group that has partnered with the ADAA to create climate impact reports for The Art Show’s Sustainability Roadmap Initiative. As one of the first and most ambitious undertakings by an art fair to track and take increasingly ambitious steps each year to reduce the fair's carbon footprint, the ADAA’s Sustainability Roadmap is a key study in Keenan’s book. The conversation will be moderated by Jessica Kwok, Associate Curator at Storefront for Art and Architecture.

Uncompromising in its messages, Climate Action in the Art World is essential reading for all art professionals, from artists to curators to art handlers, as well as for anyone seeking an accessible entry point to a topic which is unfortunately only getting (literally) hotter.

Additional panelists to be announced. As space is limited, RSVP here.
